Fish sauce

The umami flavour of fish sauce gives depth to (dip) sauces, wok dishes, marinades and vinaigrettes. Contrary to what the strong odour of this popular Asian seasoning might suggest, the flavour does not dominate, but rather blends well into the dish.

Fish sauce is also called liquid salt, so you can use fish sauce instead of salt.
